The space was originally planned as a wet room; however, the existing floor joists were not adequate and could not be replaced, so a lightweight Karndean floor was specified in place of tiles. The walls were reboarded and skimmed, with the shower and tiled areas reinforced using Jackoboard, and tiling carried out up to 2.4 metres. New electrics were installed for wall lighting and a ceiling fan, and the project was finished with Karndean flooring throughout. A quirky mix of colours and design choices gives the room a distinctive, characterful finish.
